A photograph by Martin Sylvester. In the foreground is a carved figure of Christ, with right hand raised in blessing, and left hand holding a shell - a symbol of baptism and of pilgrimage. Intensely lit, in the background, we see a crucifix. The lifelong pilgrimage of faith that begins with the new life given in baptism passes through suffering and death on the way to resurrection and eternal life.

Our Mission as a Roman Catholic parish is:

  • to be a family where people come to be healed, forgiven, and given the power to change their lives and change the world.
  • to offer opportunities for people to grow in faith in Jesus Christ, in hope, and in love.
  • to celebrate our faith.
  • to help others share the new life offered by faith in Jesus Christ our Saviour
  • to co-operate with people of any faith, or of none, in efforts to bring peace, justice, and healing to our world.

Our parish is a mixed race community with people of all ages and a wide social variety. More than 150 people celebrate their faith each weekend in our church.
